HON. SAYWALAH KESSELLY APPOINTED AND UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED BY THE NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO HEAD ULAA ELECTIONS COMMISSION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(WASHINGTON DC, July 1, 2021):The National Executive President of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA), Hon. Vamba S. Fofana, dispatched, on June 27, 2021, an entreaty to ULAA National Board of Directors, soliciting a speedy confirmation of qualified nominees his office vetted from  Member-Chapters of ULAA in good standing (representing three of the four geographic regions of ULAA (Eastern, Northern and Southern) to serve as new members of the ULAA National Elections Commission (ULAA-EC) pursuant to Chapter XIX of the Constitution of ULAA. 

Accordingly, the National Board of Directors of ULAA  came up with Board Resolution 07-01-21-04 promptly as they “assembled in a Special Session via Zoom mode on July 1, 2021, at 9:00 PM; having obtained more than the constitutional quorum threshold, and reliance of the powers granted to the National Board of Directors by the Constitution, deliberated, voted on the recommendations of the Electoral Panel, and unanimously confirmed Mr. Saywalah N. Kesselly, Executive Director, African Center for Community Empowerment of Queens, New York (Chairman) along with Mr. Faliku K. Konneh, II (Co-Chairman), Mrs. Aflowa Zaza (Secretary), Mr. Amara Kamara (Member), Mr. Joseph Reeves (Member), and Ms. Fatima Fahnbulleh (Member) to conduct the affairs of the ULAA Election Commission (ULAA-EC), immediately replacing Commissioner Monsio Seedee and her team, whose three-year term of services expired. 

It can be recalled that on June 15, 2021, the ULAA National Board of Directors, following numerous attempts to have the ULAA-EC to comply with the Board’s request to provide documentary materials to facilitate the adjudicative functions of the Board, passed Vote of No Confidence in the entire ULAA Elections Commission.
