PRESS RELEASE: ULAA Appoints New Foreign Minister

June 28, 2023, Philadelphia-The Leadership of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) has appointed Mr. Arthur Weah-Doe as External Affairs Chairman. He replaces Mr. James Koiyan, who resigned due to his new role as Board Chairman of the Liberian Association of Pennsylvania Inc (LAP-INC).

Appointed by ULAA National President, Hon. Shiwoh Kamara, Mr. Weah-Doe was appointed Wednesday, June 28, 2023. His appointment is subject to confirmation by the Board of Directors. Weah-Doe a resident of the State of Maryland will lead the charge of all ULAA external affairs engagements both in the United State, Europe, Asia and Liberia.

He will also serve as direct liaison officer between federal and state partners of the Union. Announcing the appointment, ULAA President said, the appointment was done thoroughly and described Weah-Doe as an experienced administrator and former state man whose record remains unmatched in community service.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Weah-Doe served as Chief of Staff to Hon. Welma Mashinini Reed, President of the Liberian Community Association of the Washington DC Area. He’s also a former Deputy Chief of Protocol, National Legislature, Republic of Liberia from 1995-1997.

From 2013 thru 2015, he served as Secretary, Board of Directors of ULAA and National Secretary General, ULAA from 2015 to 2019. Serving as former chairman of the constitutional committee of the Liberian Community in Washington DC, Mr. Weah-Doe vowed to serve with distinction with calls on all Liberians to support his office.
